As we approach 2024, don't you think it's time to start thinking about and preparing our wardrobes? Fashion trends constantly evolve, so if you want ideas on what items could be in your wardrobe in 2024, I suggest you follow Dustee Creations' fashion blog closely.
Dustee Creations keeps up with the latest fashion trends on the runway, but we understand that not all of those trends are practical for everyday wear. That's why we're here to make fashion more accessible to everyone. We take inspiration from the latest trends and adapt them to create practical and fashionable clothing that anyone can wear. We believe fashion should be stylish and functional, and we strive to achieve that balance in all our designs.
Let's talk about some cool fashion trends next year that are practical and easy to wear. I've picked these trends from different fashion brands, perfect for everyone. That's why I added them to our fashion blog.
So, here's the deal: I've been doing some research and made a few observations. But listen, at the end of the day, do whatever you want and have fun with your style. Dustee Creations is all about breaking fashion rules, so go ahead and wear whatever makes you feel good!
Let me share my thoughts on the upcoming trend in 2024. We will say goodbye to the Y2K trend, which has been prevalent for years, and welcome the emergence of 2012. It's funny to say this, but I think it's because some of us are approaching our 40s. And no, I'm not revealing my age; I'm just accepting that time flies.
Here are my 10 Practical Fashion Trends for 2024
Lace
I think lace is going to be a big deal in 2024. You can see many clothing brands, including my favorite retailers, showcasing a lot of lace-style tops and dresses. Adding lace to your outfit is a great way to spice things up and add texture. For example, wearing a black lace top with an all-black outfit will make you look sexy and relaxed. I'm a big fan of Michael Kors and their Spring 2024 Ready-To-Wear Collection. It is precisely what we need. They've got all the practical fashion trends you need for the year. This dress on the left is from Michael Kors; it's a Leopard Corded Lace mini dress @ $129.
2. Maxi Skirts and Dresses
I believe the trend of wearing high-waisted satin maxi slip skirts will continue for some time, which is perfectly fine with me. Although I haven't purchased the beautiful Aritzia skirt priced at $88.20 yet, I am considering it as it is available in various colors. I have noticed many people wear maxi skirts and dresses these days, which excites me because I love wearing them. Maxi dresses and skirts are more versatile than other types of clothing as they can be dressed up or down. If you are short like me but still love maxi dresses, I recommend wearing them with comfortable heels to add height.
3. Long Tops
Some women still prefer crop tops, but I have never felt comfortable wearing them. Maybe it's because I've always been conscious about showing my belly, or perhaps it's because I have an O-shaped body type with a big belly. Loose tops over my stomach make me feel comfortable and look good. I found a metallic sleeveless long top from Banana Republic priced at CA$150.00 that I like. The great thing about longer tops is that they can be worn over skirts and pants; this is precisely how I plan to wear mine. Some people tuck them in, which looks cool too. Wearing a more extended top over my outfit will create a fresh silhouette we haven't seen in a while, and I'm excited to try out this trend.
4. V-Neck T-Shirt
I've noticed that many people are starting to wear V-neck T-shirts. As someone petite and with a shorter torso, I think the V-neck style is perfect because it creates the illusion of a longer torso and adds a bit of height. In fact, I already have a few of these T-shirts from 2022. I'm eyeing an oversized V-neck short-sleeved T-shirt from ZARA, CAD 25.99. In my opinion, I don't think this trend has ever died.
5. Bows
Bows are totally in right now when it comes to personal style. Even though they seem like a small detail, they can make your outfit stand out and show off your unique vibe. Social media is filled with people rocking the bow trend, and the best part is that you can put them anywhere from your head to your toes. If you're into it, check out Urban Outfitters Canada's Bow Mini Dress in Silver for CA$99.00, or head over to Laura Canada for more formal dresses with bows.
6. Oversized bags
I'm excited to share my thoughts on the Oversized bag trend. It's becoming more popular because we've been so obsessed with micro-bags. I own a micro-bag from Aldo and still use it, but I think people are now leaning toward the functionality of larger bags. This trend will likely be seen more on the streets and social media. I'm thrilled because I already have a few oversized bags from Michael Kors and Coach and don't need to buy a new one. This particular bag from Coach, made of vegetable-tanned leather, costs C$2,200. It's definitely not a micro-bag!
7. Statement Earrings
One of the fashion trends that we will see more of in 2024 is giant, daring earrings. As someone who loves accessories, I am excited about this trend. In fact, I even have my own accessory brand called Dustee Creations. In recent years, the popular style has been hoggy-style hoops, which I own a few of. However, I believe we will see more oversized hoops or abstract, sculptured earrings in 2024. This is my favorite trend, and I can't wait to see people wearing them. Of course, Dustee Creations will also follow this trend by adding bolder and bigger earrings to our collection. With these earrings, your outfit will definitely stand out. The geometric triple hoop earrings in the image are from 27 Boutique and cost $20.00. You can find them in downtown Calgary.
8. Gold metallic
Gold Metallic is taking center stage in 2024; if you prefer warm metallic, then you are in luck next year. In the same way we have seen Silver in 2023, you will see Gold the same. Many designers sent their models down the runway with a lot of gold from top to toe. I'm not sure about that style because I wouldn't wear gold like many designers were sending their models down the runway with a lot of gold from top to toe; well, I'm not at. This beautiful metallic Sequin stretch Romper from Dynamite @ $60.00.
Remember, fashion is all about self-expression and feeling confident in your own skin. Don't let the pressure of following every trend break your wallet or your spirit. Choose what works for you, and always remember that true style is timeless. So be bold, and let your fashion choices reflect your unique personality and individuality.
